The Albufera of Valencia
The Albufera, located 10 km south of Valencia, is the biggest freshwater lagoon of Spain and the Albufera National Park is also one of the most important wetlands of Europe. Here is cultivated the rice, which is very important in our culture. Further it is considered a paradise for migratory birds.
In this visit we will travel across the rice fields until we get to the viewpoint Gola de Pujol. Afterwards we will got to the jetty of El Palmar, where we will get a boat and sail across the Albufera lagoon to see the bird reserve. Finally, we will visit a “barraca”, which used to be the typical house of the farmers and fishermen of the area.
